Without any further ado, here is a glimpse of her life.
I was born in 1992 (26 y/o) in Galicia, Spain, where I spent all my youth and discovered the path of Yoga.
I have always been an active girl, practicing challenging sports at a competition level like swimming, rhythmic gymnastics and surf. Nevertheless, I did not have what it took to be a top-class athlete.
I started competing at a very early age (6 y/o) and was not ready to face the pressure of competition, and never learnt how to.
Being under this stress and my own self-criticism made me hate the sports that I once started loving, and at one point, I stopped practicing any sport (16 y/o).
I went through a time of depression and anxiety while in High School and first years of College.
It was not till I found Yoga that I started to feel myself again (in 2015 with 23 y/o). Even though there were many other factors which influenced my recovery (my family and doctors), I believe that finding the path of Yoga was a crucial turning point.
While studying in college (Business Management Diploma), my mother introduced me to yoga as a way of combining some physical exercise with my studies.
I started to practice Iyengar Yoga in 2015 at a certified yoga studio in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. My passion for yoga kept growing since the day I walked into that first yoga class. Still, I could have never imagined how much it was going to change my life, at a physical and emotional level.
I started to take care of myself again. That is the most valuable teaching I took from Yoga.
After finishing my University degree in 2016, I moved to the Netherlands and worked as an accountant for 1 year at a multinational corporation. During this period I kept practicing Iyengar Yoga at a certified yoga studio, but I also tried all other kinds of yoga styles, as I was starting to feel everyday more curious about this discipline.
At the end of 2017, I decided to quit my job and start a deeper yoga journey.
I had discovered my passion and decided to follow that path, as nothing less would do anymore.
Yes, it was a scary move and a very difficult decision to take, but totally worth it.
I started my new journey by volunteering at Arhanta Yoga Ashram Netherlands and later on, joining their 200h Certified Yoga Teacher Training in March, 2018 and becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher, together with my mom! Sharing this passion for Yoga with her is one of the things I am most grateful for and makes it extra special for me!
Currently I am working towards building my yoga career as a Yoga Teacher and I am grateful beyond words for being able to share with all of you my deep love and respect for this amazing life science while partnering with my mom and sharing this amazing journey with her!
Now, as a yoga teacher, my motivation is to help my students start taking care of themselves again.
Yoga is not just a sport, it has more benefits than just a physical activity and I want you to discover them!
Because of my Iyengar Yoga background, there is a huge focus on body alignment during my classes. I believe a correct alignment fosters introspection and mental clarity, apart from the physical benefits (avoiding injuries and fostering this physical benefits).
Plus, I like my classes to be very active and fun!
